Most major broadcasters have published their reference link offer (IRO) at the same time as the interconnection agreement, in accordance with the new tariff regime put in place by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The deadline to comply was August 31, 2018.The major channels, including Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited and TV18 Broadcast Limited, reported their RIOs. This RIO applies from December 29, 2018 (i.e. at the end of 180 days from the date of the TRAI press release of July 3, 2018, read with traI communications of March 3-2017), reads the RIO published by TV18 Broadcast Ltd. However, Star India, which is one of the petitioners against the TRAI tariff and the connection order, is not yet in filing its ROI. The appeals of Star India and Vijay Television, which have been listed for 28 August, will be heard on 5 September by the Supreme Court, Rohinton Fali Nariman, and Justice Indu Malhotra. On 3 July 2018, TRAI implemented the Addressable Systems regulations 2017, after being confirmed by the Madras High Court, with one exception. When the decision was implemented on 3 July, TRAI set deadlines for stakeholders. TV18 Broadcast Limited has ordered IndiaCast Media Distribution Private Limited as an authorized agent for the distribution of TV18 channels throughout India. TRAI has implemented the 2017 Broadcasting and Cable Interconnection (Addressable Systems) Regulations 2017, after being confirmed by Madras High Court, with one exception.
